What to do with the bike box after unpacking your bike?

When you fly in with your bike to start your Camino, and you’ve gone with the cardboard bike box option, and you’ve unpacked your bike ready to go, what do you do with the (now redundant) box?

It looks like I’ll be able to borrow a ”proper” bike box so I won’t have this problem. I’m just curious.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Have seen them left for the terminal cleaners at the airport. Have also seen one that clearly had been stored somewhere to be re-used.

You could ask the accommodation you end at about disposal but assume they might ask for a fee. For example, at San Martin Pinario in SDC there are new cardboard bike boxes stored in one of their many spaces so it could be stored there for re-use.

Left mine at Bayonne railway station after checking with the counter staff as to where it could be left for recycling or disposal.

Hope to do st Jean de port to finisterre in September 24 on bike. To buy a bike in Ireland and transport or buy in France. Any thoughts welcomed
Is there a dedicated guide for cyclists that suggests alternatives to the rocky/steep parts of the trail? I found a link to a 2018 one on another thread, but it is no longer available.
