Transportation from Porto to Sarria

Planning for September 16, 2022
Ola Fellow Pilgrims,
We are in Porto and need to get to Sarria tomorrow, 9/16, for the start of our Camino. Is there anyone going in that direction that can recommend a good way to get there? Train is out of the question because even the Ticket master said it was too difficult. Buses take a long time ie 8 hours, with a change and waits. Any other ideas please?
Muchas gracias!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
You might be able to get a taxi as another pilgrim has arranged in this post, but it will be very expensive.

Do you have bookings from Sarria? If not, you could start your Camino from Tui on the Portuguese route.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Thanks for speedy replies! Yes it’s a bummer and we are fully booked through Follow the Camino from Sarria to Santiago!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Train to Vigo, then to Ourense, then to Monforte de Lemos, then to Sarria.

But yeah, it would probably take the whole day.

You could hire a car for the week, if you're not more than 5 people.

Thank you all.
We are here to meet some family members who are starting their Camino Portuguese bike tour. We decided to take a car service that is pricey but will save some wear and tear before our walk. Buen Camino!
