Train line from Bayonne to St Jean Pied de Port

Does anybody happen to know if the train line from Bayonne to St Jean is out of action ? 'Trainline' shows six times per day departures but no availability (April/May).....surely it can't be so busy that it has all sold out already ?

As recently discussed in this thread (and this one), the train from Bayonne to SJPP has been replaced by a bus for part of its route - at least temporarily. You can still book the entire journey via the SNCF website or app.

When travelling from Bayonne to SJPP by train or bus, is it possible to buy ticket from the train/bus
or should the tickets be booked in advance?

Thank you for the direct link! I couldn't even see available tickets on the site I was using, but last night I booked with no problems at all. Will be on the alert for buses in stead of trains.

Hi, can anyone tell me if there's still work going on on the Bayonne to SJPP trainline? I believe that at the moment I would need to take the train so far then transfer to a bus for the rest of the journey?
Is it still ok to buy the tickets at Bayonne train station on the day, or would it be advisable to pre-book?
