Annie, I will read your link later. I love your opening image to your blog, I remember it so clearly. Your title for this thread is just so full of enthusiasm, I would take off my hat if I wore one! Take care, and I look forward to your account.
Edit: Annie, thanks for entrusting your mum's ending days to our prayers...and some are there for you too.👣

Go. Recharge, breathe deeply, walk, rest, laugh, pray...take it all in. Let your shoulders fall slack...you needn't hold up your world anymore. Mom is in God's care. Passage will be decided by them and them alone. She will be in my prayers, as are you Annie...always. Ultreia !

I very much enjoyed your blog post. For those of us with aging parents, it is comforting to hear the insights you share. I wish you and your family all the best. And may you have the most enjoyable Camino yet!

These are lovely words of release written by Sophie. 💓
The description of relaxing your shoulders is so apt.

You have a lot to cope with in those 13 days., physically and emotionally. You will have Joe beside you.
I think you have planned your time in Spain so well; to give yourselves the time of Holy Week in Manresa to calm and begin refreshed.

Buen camino.
Annie

Hi Annie. I wept when I read your link. My mother died almost a year ago, I haven’t shed a tear until now. It was also a difficult relationship and the three years looking after her nearly killed my spirit. I now know I need to get back on the Camino to heal myself. New Zealand had been closed to the World for so long but the end is in sight.
I will walk from Le Puy to Santiago de C.
1,600kms should do the job. I wish you well on your Camino Journey. Jo

My feisty little mom passed away this morning at 8:20 am after a pretty rough night for both of us.
I'm exhausted, but relieved. My sons managed to arrive minutes before she left - and now I believe she was waiting for them to come and say their goodbyes. She WAS a good grandmother to them. We spent the morning resting and reminiscing and once mom's body was picked up, my middle son took me to the local pub, where we raised a glass to mom, played some casino games (which she loved) in her memory, and enjoyed our visit. He is staying the night with me tonight. Joe arrives tomorrow and we will begin getting ready for the Camino.

I want to thank each of you for your. kind words, prayers, and thoughts.
I love this community for the support and friendship I always feel here.
I hope to see you on The Way!

I too experienced every minute of my mother's last long night, ending at 6:30 a.m. I'm glad to hear that you are visiting and enjoying your family, and I hope that you are able to do everything you need to do in the next 12 days. If so, the timing seems perfect.

Sending love to you and your family. May God welcome your Mom with open arms, may she rest in peace. She'll be selecting her seat now to watch you from above...take her along in your steps. She'll now experience the joy of walking Camino and know deeply what your passion means to you. I love the thought of someone who has passed finally knowing the real us, and loving us even more with that real understanding.
Walk with joy Annie. Breathe that relief. You've been a good daughter, Peregrina.
