None at the moment... but am walking the North Highland Way...
I love Ivar's web site, and am wondering which software he uses. I think he told me once, but I have forgotten. We are not only doing the North Highland Way, we are doing the whole coast of Scotland in the Route of the Spanish Armada.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Are you asking what the software that runs the forum is? Or looking for an app for your route?

I am not sure what information you are looking for. Is it related to
  1. Walking the North Highland Way - If so, a search on this forum reveals these threads.
  2. GPS apps and tracks to follow while walking - If so, click on the "tag phones/apps/gps/maps" that has been added under the title at the top on this thread.
  3. How to create and run an internet forum for people interested in extensive discussion of that route - For this, perhaps you could send a private Conversation to Ivar to ask what software he uses. Or send one to me and I might be able to help.
I hope this helps!

The source HTML for this webpage mentions Xenforo, a provider of forum software.

It is hidden though in statements like:

I was looking for them to sponsor a forum for the North Highland Way / Scottish Coastal path project. If I do it myself, I am too well known - and anyway want to retire! Any takers? And get Vueling to sponsor them.

That's not how it works. Xenforo doesn't sponsor forums. They sell software to run forums.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Yes.. thank you for your feedback.. very kind. I just want someone to take over the Friends of the North Highland Way resource, create their own forum so we are not encroaching on Ivar and set up a similar thing with affiliate marketing etc. I am trying to retire... This would be for the whole of Scotland.

Thanks for this clarification. I already sent you a private Conversation, before reading your most recent post.

This post has been moved into the "Other walks around the world" forum and the title changed to include "North Highland Way - Scotland" so that it is easier for people to see the subject, and the search function will be more effective.

If sounds like an interesting project if you can find someone with a bit of computer knowledge as well as a passion for hiking in Scotland. Maybe someone reading this forum will fit the bill. Good luck!

We have been on the resources page for a number of years. However, I do not want to adverise, just tell folk about the route. We are coming into winter now in the far north of Scotland. Not many tourists around now, and places closing for the winter. I would like to thank @C clearly for her help.....if any one wants to run a similar forum for Scotland, just ask.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Thank you... It's winter now, so a good time for someone to get up to speed.

Is there a group of you? I do see that there is a North Highland Way website. Are you associated with that?

No. That is just another web site.. not approved by The Highland Council as mine is. I am reluctant to put my link as it may be construed as advertising and do not want to upset Ivar.

If we see that the website links are posted by people for the purpose of advertising a business, then we delete. However, you can see that many helpful links are posted.

In general, there is no problem with posting a URL link to a website of a non-profit organization that provides information relevant to the forum threads. Ivar is not easily upset! :)

It would help if you would summarize where you are coming from what your concept is, and what really you are looking for. At the moment we are having to extract information and make guesses. Maybe just a sentence or two outlining the concept, and suggesting that interested people can contact you by private Conversation.

I should add that if a linked blog has advertisements and commercial endorsements, that blog may be considered commercial.

I think the purpose of this thread has been achieved and we can close it. If anyone wants to create a forum for the North Highland Way, they might want to contact the OP by private Conversation.

If anyone has questions or information about the North Highland Way that they would like to share, they can start a new thread in this forum - Other walks around the world.
