Many thanks for the information, appreciate it.Short answer: yes! Since it’s Holy Year and things are busy, choose a place in Santiago and book it beforehand. I think the municipal albergue (San Lázaro) and the albergue Monte de Gozo might be the only ones that check pilgrim passports; otherwise I don’t think the other albergues, pensions, hotels, and hostales in town would bother as they’re so used to tourists and pilgrims coming and going. Others can correct me if I’m wrong.
Buen Camino!
Hey, I have booked 2 places at a hostel and my sister missed the flight. If you didn’t find anything give me a sign. CristianI’m flying in on a late afternoon flight and even though I would like to get straight to Sarria, it would be around 10pm before I get there..
Can I use my pilgrim passport to book accommodation in Santiago for the night even though I haven’t ‘started’ the Camino? Tnx
