There are two places where the GR65 and the Camino signposting diverge on this stage:
1) after Raffy, the GR65 takes you towards the village of Queyrières. The Camino shells provide a shortcut, a bit before Le Coudert, and this shortcut joins the GR 65 at a place called le Mas. I think it saves you approx 1.5km. The village of Queyrières is quite interesting and worth the detour.
2) after Monedeyres, the GR65 takes you down to Chanalez, and you come into Saint-Julien from the South. The yellow guide of the Association Rhône-Alpes and the Camino signposting will diverge at a place called le Moulin de Guérin, and follows a path to la Chapuze before coming down to Saint-Julien-Chapteuil from the north-east. We took that path on the recommendation from Jean-Pierre and Martine from Le Fougal, who said it would save us about 1.5km, and was more scenic.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Enjoying your blog, great pictures. Looks beautiful and oh so wonderful. Buen camino, amigos.

Thanks Laurie! I hope the blog is interesting, sometimes I think a picture is worth a thousand words, and I struggle to come up with comments that are not too repetitive.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
