Just wanting to announce that there is now a new sub-forum in the Camino de Madrid forum. So far, only @Nuala has posted Camino de Mendocino threads, but as she is doing a great job of publicizing it and temptin us with her lovely descriptions, I am betting that there will be more interest. So, here is the place to learn all about how to start the Camino de Madrid in Guadalajara rather than Madrid. Looks like three (or maybe four if you want to walk short distances) very nice off-road days through un-touristy Spain, even though you will be a stone's through from the nation's capital!

Here is the place to go to scroll through the Mendocino posts (and if I have missed any, let me know and I will move them).

Buen camino, Laurie

I just want to point out that, the monastery of Santiago in Uclés, Cuenca, was for centuries the main headquarters of the knights of Santiago in Spain. From an historical point of view, starting the Madrid way in Ucles makes a lot more sense.
