Siempre hay que ver el positivo
Time of past OR future Camino
Oct/Nov 2016 (Via Podensis/ Frances)
Oct 2018 (Via Francigena stage)
Wanted to let everyone know that there's a new albergue in Castildelgado (which is about 7 km after Grañon & about 10 km before Belorado).
Called Albergue Bideluxe, it's on your right as you enter the village - Calle Major 8, 09259 Castildegado (Burgos). It opened in August 2016; tel +34 616 64 71 15/ +34 616 50 31 50; www.alberguebideluze.com; info@alberguebideluze.com.
Very clean. Bunk beds that you can sit on & not hit your head! Only 8 bunk beds per room (I think there are two such dormitories + two double rooms). Blanket & paper bottom sheet & pillowcase supplied. Cost: 10€ for a bunk bed; 10€ for dinner & 3€ for breakfast.
Lovely little garden to sit in. Lovely sitting room / dining room (see photo). WiFi. Free afternoon tea served. Separate men/ women showers & toilets.
Definitely worth a visit.

We stayed here in May 2017 and it was delightful! The dinner pilgrim's meal was delicious, the building was spotless and the hospitaleros were very gracious. Highly recommended.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Here is a pic from 2016, I love the simplicity of the sketch map and directions "1 km climb up, 5km flat, 5km down". I wonder how the prices are now?
Reposted from Wise Pilgrim comments, was hiking with this pilgrim. Don’t follow app,go just a bit further past to well marked turn, not the one with spray painted arrow on stop sign:
