It’s always good to read about new albergues opening on untraveled caminos. This one is going to be in an historic building in the centro histórico. Braga has a lot of accommodation options in all price ranges, though, so if someone asked me, I would much prefer to see albergues in some of the places where there are fewer lodging options. That sounds ungrateful, and I am not! The Geira is an absolutely great camino. If you put it with the Torres from Salamanca to Braga it is a terrific ”camino combo.”

While in Braga, Portugal, you may want to find time visiting the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, a UNESCO site.

It was quite a workout for me climbing steps in many "zip-zap like" stages to the top, but rewarded a good meal at reasonable cost in a restaurant at the top!

The Braga Cathedral was a nice place too.

Good news for Geira and Mariana pilgrims, and anybody walking from Porto with an eye on the leas travelled road through Braga. It looks like the fine city will be getting an albergue.

that's great news as I'll be walking from Porto in May. Thanks for the info.
