My husband and I are currently on the Camino de Madrid and are stuck here in Villalon de Campo as my husband has injured his back. I just wanted to say how wonderful the people are here. This is the second time we have had medical issues (two years ago my husband got pneumonia while we were on the Via de la Plata). People have been so wonderful and helpful to us... and of course the hospitalero here has told us we can stay until he is better (we are the only peregrinos here).
What I find the most remarkable is that neither time have we been charged at all for the medical care we received, and as the medico today said ´Oh, we never charge anything for peregrinos´. In any case, I´m sure we´ll be back on the Way within a few days (and hopefully the weather will improve by then as well - it´s freezing here!!

Peace,
lynne

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Wonderful pilgrims always meet wonderful people and vs.
I wish your husband's back will be better very soon and you can enjoy to continue your Camino.
Love and peace

Sorry to hear that you plans have gone astray. Hope your husband's back is soon feeling better and you are able to continue walking, though I imagine a back problem on the Camino might not be that easily fixed. All the best.

Well, good news!! After a couple of days rest in Sahagun (during the holiday weekend!!), we started walking again. Very short distances at first, but then today we walked the 27 km from Bercianos de Real Camino to Mancilla de los Mulas, and everything is fine... My husband´s back seems to have recovered. What a shock after weeks of isolation on the Camino de Madrid to encounter so many peregrinos..Takes a little adjustment.
Onward. Thanks for your good wishes.

Peace,
lynne

I will be walking Madrid this year. I will walk the Aragones first starting around October 10. Probably start Madrid on about 19-20. I see you walked it last year. Any pearls of wisdom? Looks...
