Logrono Wine Festival 2020

I did my Camino #5 in 2019 with my Son.

I (actually HE) regretted missing the Logrono Wine festival 2019.

We arrived in Logrono Sept 26. 2019..... the day before it really started ..

Question:....

When is the Logono 2020 Wine Festival ?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
However, this site says September 23-27 😕

And this one says "to be confirmed"

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I don't remember where I got my information in 2015 but we actually slowed down our Camino so that we would be in Logrono for the wine festival only to find out that when we arrived in Logrono it was the previous week, :(

Are you sure? The 2019 San Mateo festival was from 20 to 27 September. Apparently, the dates for 2020 aren’t fixed yet. San Mateo itself is on the 21st of September which is a Monday this year and a public holiday in Logroño. I think the festival usually lasts a week and includes the 21st, from Friday to Friday or Saturday to Saturday. We happened to be there once, in 2015.

PS: San Mateo and the wine festival go together. Wine festival is actually a misnomer, it’s a grape harvest/vintage festival.

It’s from Saturday 19 September to Saturday 26 September 2020, according to here: https://www.cuandopasa.com/index.php?v=v39043b

The website has also a good summary of what to expect as far as events and festivities are concerned. The grape treading event takes place on the San Mateo feast day which is on Monday 21 September 2020.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
And may I add it would be a very good idea to book accommodation ahead if you plan to be there at those dates ;-)

Absolutely. I don’t know about dormitory style albergues but anything that is bookable will be booked. It’s a great opportunity to experience Spanish fiestas. It would be interesting to hear what people recommend doing that you can’t experience during other times in Logroño, such as the wine bars and tapas bars for which Logroño is famous.

What I remember is fireworks every midnight and street food that was available in various places throughout the day, in particular one occasion near the main church and another one in a particular part of the town when leaving town. And one scary „giant“ dancing through the street. And the odd marching band and open air concerts, lots of them in various places and very loud and very late into the night. And lots and lots of people on the streets and squares, not only in the evening but also during the day.

I recommend buying a newspaper for a list of daily events.

What dates for 2021? Quite by chance I stumbled into the San Mateo on my 2012 walk, and its about time that I stumbled into it again. ... Logrono is a wonderful place! Reminds me very much of the prosperous and happy 1960s Mexico City that I grew up in....

I was at the Logrono Wine Festival last year and this year, and I hope I will be able to go there next year because I like this festival. Agree that their coverage is something unreal. For fans of such events, I would recommend conference audio visual equipment hire in London. It is a group of friendly, active specialists in audiovisual production from LED screens, sound to lighting design, non-standard decorations, and streaming services. We cover all areas of event organization. So if you're planning a conference and need a reliable AV company to broadcast your event, no problem.
