Hi, Judy here. Has anyone ever done the camino as a means to raise funds for their favourite charity? If so, can you help with ideas as to getting sponsors etc. Were people generous? I have done bits of the camino before but in order to do the whole thing I would like to have another reason for doing it other than just really enjoying myself Any ideas welcome. Thanks Judy

Callie and Dwight did el camino 4 cancer ( http://www.camino4cancer.com/ ) not long ago. Maybe you can get some ideas from them?

Hi Judy,

In the 80s Laurie Denett walked the Camino from Chartres, France to raise money for MS. She later wrote a book about her experience in "A Hug for an Apostle". The journal style boot was a great help in planning my own up-and-coming camino. It's out of print but you can get used copies from Amazon for something like 3 bucks.

I think she ended up raising something like 20-30k pounds for the MS society.
