I had heard it was being repaired with no idea when it would be fixed.
No. A friend asked the cathedral sacristy about it this afternoon and was told there is no definite news on when it will be back in use.Is it back up and functioning again?
Thanks I'm doing the Camino Portuguese in June and I'll keep my fingers crossed it will be swinging by late June.Last week I saw a Facebook post from a volunteer in the cathedral sacristy which suggested that it might be back in use by June. Nothing definite though.
Just left Santiago a couple of days ago. There isn’t any part of it up at the moment. When I asked a few weeks ago, right before we left for our Camino, they said they had no prospective date for its return. No one was working on it at all while we were there. It really is sad. I was definitely disappointed. I’m sure it’s spectacular.Any updates on this? has anyone heard about a date for operational shape, or is this over? I so much hate to see this not working I saw it last year when I did the French way, but so many new pilgrims wont have to see and experience this, I really cant see the Church prioritizing this.

That makes me feel better. Mass was definitely very very special and moving, but I was worried I was missing out lol. Never thought about it that way lol.No.

I was actually (very) surprised to find that I prefer its total absence. Mass was lovely and solemn, without the sideshow aspect of a 2-metre high flying missile.
