Iberia will start flights from Madrid to Biarritz on March 29th. Flights will be operated by Air Nostrum and will run daily except Saturdays. Departure time from Madrid will be at noon. I don't know if flights will be year round or just seasonal.

From Biarritz airport, you can take a bus to Bayonne train station and from Bayonne train station you can go to St. Jean Pied de Port with the sncf (www.sncf.com).

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
This is great! Thanks for sharing this. It looks like the fares start at $53 one-way, and the departure is noon or 1:00pm. That will work well with many of the flights from the US.

Is the train running again to SJPdP from Bayonne?
I thought since the track was out one needs to take a bus?

The local TER line 62 train from Bayonne to SJPdP has been running since late 2015. No need to take the replacement bus.

This marks a sea change in transportation options ... Madrid is now a much better option than Paris.

Take flight from MAD to BIQ;

Take the Chronoplus bus from Biarritz/Anglet Airport to Gare Bayonne; and,

Take SNCF TER Aquitaine train from Bayonne to SJPdP.

At first appraisal this appears to be far and away the fastest and most economical (subject to air fare and schedule) of any other routes.
