Camino Portugal (May 2018)
Hello,

I'm currently in Bordeaux, France, and would like to walk the Camino Ingles in April, starting from Ferrol.
I've looked at train websites, but can't find any timetables for trains to Ferrol.

How are others planning to get there?
Is there an airport near Ferrol?

Thank you!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
LCG is the La Coruna airport closest to Ferrol. SCQ (Santiago de Compostela) is second closest.
I've bussed to Ferrol from Coruna.

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
If a slow journey is OK then the FEVE train from Bilbao to Ferrol is a lovely ride. Breaking the journey at least once is needed as it is about 14 hours travel time. Times are on the FEVE section of the RENFE site.
If travelling to Santiago then there is a regular bus service direct to Ferrol.

Thank you, everyone, for this helpful information!
Here is the FEVE times link if you need it. We took the train from Santander to Oviedo, then to Ribadeo, then Ferrol. Others have just broken the journey in Oviedo. Good cheap places to stay near the station on Calle Uria. Pre-booked using booking.com.
As 'jubilados' we bought a tarjeta dorada giving us cheaper train travel, but it is not expensive anyway.
Note that there is a toilet on the train but no food or drink available so you need to bring your own.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Hi,

You may find there is a flight from Bordeaux to SdeC. You can then train, bus or taxi to Ferrol. The taxi ride takes about an hour.

@Melena I arrive through La Coruna airport. There aren’t any buses from Coruña airport to Ferrol, you must take a bus from the airport to Coruña city. I just took the bus outside of the airport. Then you must take a bus from Coruña to Ferrol. Coruna to Ferrol is station to station so may need to do some walking into the center city depending where you are staying.

The FEVE train ride is slow. But beautiful views! Nice people. Last year rode it and over nighted at three places. Lodging cost is not expensive on the route.

Or, you can ride the bus to Ferrol.

Sorry cannot recall bus company used from San Sebastián to Ferrol.

Also last year rode bus from San Sebastián back down to Seville.

Interesting, your question is in a thread that is a few years old. I could look up the information for you, but you might prefer to do so yourself. Google maps is probably the best bet. You can look for a location, and you will be asked for a starting point, then the app will show you the points on the map, distance etc. That should give you the exact information you need. Good luck.
