Hello from Japan. I've done the Shikoku 88 Temples pilgrimage several times. Now I'm thinking about the Camino. I look forward to learning from your collective expertise.

Your time? Availability and seasonal preferences.
Which Camino? Distances? (overall and daily, ability).
Accommodation? Types, Quality, Prices, Distances between, Op/Cl times.
Equipment? Pack, (Size, price, quality, comfort), Sleeping Bag, Towel, Sunglasses, Hiking poles.
Clothes? Seasonal Requirements - Numbers reqd. - Trousers, shorts, Shirts-T & LS, Underwear, Socks, Hat, Wet weather gear.

The above covers only a portion of subjects, and as I am aware you have some reasonably strenuous hiking experience, please forgive me if I appear to be a teacher of the correct way to suck eggs.

I went the other way around - first the Caminos and then walking the 88 temple circuit in 2018. Completely different experiences. Ganbatte!

As to your OP, I've only walked the Mozarabes. But I think you will find a lot of advice and help as you do your camino. As a seasoned walker it should not present a difficult challenge for you.
