I walked my dog tonight and turned on map My Walk, GPS Tracks, Relive and Find Penguins. The first theee accurately tracked me. FindPenguins only logged start, finish and one other point and joined them to make a triangle. Was this my fault or Find Penguins’ error? I love FIndPenguins for blogging and bookmaking but if it doesn’t track???!!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

There is another app, Polar Steps that may suit your needs. Also claims to use less battery power.

I used Polar Steps and was fabulous. No problems the whole journey.
Interestingly, I was unable to get Find Penguins to work and still can't.

I must be a klutz because I just tried Polar on my dog walk and it hasn’t recorded anything. Where are the start/stop buttons?

I used Polar Steps on my first CF. It does a very good job of tracking your route, but the picture posting and text editing were buggy on my iPhone 11. As I recall, to begin route following, you have to create a “trip”, and then it will track your route by day. I don’t know that PS would be a good app for things like day hikes. For that I used AllTrails.
