I used the Conrad-Stein-Verlag guidebooks (little yellow books) which include some (but not all) available lodging. Also the local Tourism Offices (usually located near the Rathaus or Cathedral or main square) are very helpful about arranging lodging.

I used the website outdooractive.com to see the profiles etc. That site also lists lodging possibilities. I can't help more, because between home (Ulm) and the Swiss border I would only walk day hikes and always returned home to sleep.
