Thanks for the article. My forebears left the Inishowen Peninsula around Famine times, and the few remaining people with our surname are those who stayed behind, and are part of our clan!
Commerce of course is part of it, as has been remarked about all Caminos leading to Santiago!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I was on the peninsula earlier this year after starting at the other end of Ireland at Mizen Head. It's a spectacular coastline similar to the Norte.

Picked up a guide there. There is a link to a website too.

IF not next year...definitely the following! My hubby's grandmother came from Dun Lewy so it's "home" in a way. Been there once and loved it. 'Cept for the sideways rain. Made it a little easier to understand why Granny left! All in all beautiful and worth another visit. Add the fundraiser and it's a done deal

The county of my childhood summers. That and the coast of antrim both very beautiful. Great walking and stunning scenery as well as gorgeous beaches if you get the weather.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Thanks for sharing this! I would like to participate. Where can I find more information on the fundraising, logistics, etc? I am not from Donegal or even Ireland, but I do love walking there. Thank you!
Here's the site. No info yet for the 2024 walk.
