Cycling the Camino May - June 2023
Hello fellow Pilgrims, I’m cycling with a group of 5 from Santander over the Picos de Europe onto the Camino Francais Route, we hope to arrive in Santiago with a few days to spare to welcome others and soak up the pilgrim experience as walkers and cyclists complete their pilgrimage.

Question: What trains permit travellers with bikes and what rail service is best for Santiago to Santander please. See you on the Camino and thanks for any help.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
What trains permit travellers with bikes

You'll get them on the Media Distancia and Regional Express without dismantling. If you dismantle them you can get them on the faster trains. Check the sizes.

There are only 3 places on MD which have to be booked but free if less than 100km. Sometimes there is only 1 place. If over 100km it's €3

Network map is here for Frances: Renfe

FEVE network for north coast:

As regards getting to SdC you'll be quicker cycling as the route (if you are not boxing them) and assuming you are going over the Picos to Leon it would be - Leon - Ourense - Vigo ** - SdC

** Last time I tried the Ourense - SdC line I was told no bikes.

Hope to do st Jean de port to finisterre in September 24 on bike. To buy a bike in Ireland and transport or buy in France. Any thoughts welcomed
Is there a dedicated guide for cyclists that suggests alternatives to the rocky/steep parts of the trail? I found a link to a 2018 one on another thread, but it is no longer available.
