Children and the Via Francigena

Hello my name is Marietjie and I am from South Africa. A friend ask me the other day if it is possible to walk part of the via Francigena with an eight year old child. Is it to remote?

The VF is 1800km (or more) long. Could you narrow it down a bit?

Edit: See from another thread that you intend to walk the Tuscany section.

The section from Lucca to Rome which goes through Tuscany and Lazio is very popular with Italian families. It's also where bag transfer is available should you need to have some of your luggage moved ahead of you.

If you check out the postings by @Bob from L.A. ! he completed the whole VF this year and his information is current.
