Buses between Padron and Caldas de Reis

SJPP to Santiago Sept 2014
In a couple of weeks, we hope to spend a few days in Santiago, on holiday. On one of those days, my husband would like to walk to Padron, have a meal there and then catch a bus/train back. Reading around the subject, it sounds as though walking backwards from Santiago is not such a good idea, because (a) it's not easy and (b) the route sounds dull.

Caldas de Reis to Padron sounds a better day's walking, but how would we get to Caldas? It looks as though there is a bus from Padron at the weekends, but no other days. I can't get the monbus.es website to load, and can't find anything else. So, any idea if it is even possible?

Thanks in advance for any expert invaluable local advice!

Hola - there are regular buses from Santiago bus station to Caldas de Reis. But I don't agree about Padrón - Santiago state. Several times a year for a day walk I get the train to Padrón station and walk back. Alight from the train and turn Right - you will see the church of Iría Flavia where there are yellow arrows. Enjoy!

Thanks for that, Johnie.
Hubby was thinking about walking backwards, from Santiago to Padron. According to a recent thread, that is not easy. You're walking forwards on your day walk, which is definitely going to be easier! He wants to have a meal in Padron, hence why I wondered if walking from Caldas to Padron would be more straight forward.
