Hi- In a few days I will be traveling between Baamode and Sobrado and am interested in the shorter route between the two towns that goes via Cruces. Has anyone done this recently and have feedback? Or if you have done both can you offer a comparison?

Just about a week left for me on the Norte! It went by so quickly!

Thanks

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Hi Mananath,

In June I did Vilalba - A Pobra de Parga 26.6km. Next day A Proba de Parga - Sobrado dos Monxes 24,3km. In order not to reach 30 km or more.

Parga Natura is a nice place to stay and you can choose hostel or private room.

I don't know what Miraz is like.

If you choose this path do not miss the potato omelette in the Taberna da Modia, they cook for you at the moment, and the restaurant Manolo at As Cruces, ask for "menú del día" with "café de pota" and a little "aguardiente".

Buen Camino.

"Aguardiente" is correct in Spanish (also "orujo"), but locals in that area call it " caña".

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hi @Mananath, I walked this section on the Norte in mid-May this year. I stayed overnight in Baamonde, next Miraz, then on to Sobrado. All stages were just shy of 20k.

Hi Mananath, we walked Baamonde to Sobrado via Cruces in 2019. I have few photos to jog my memory, but I remember it as a very long day (Gronze says 32 km). First part was lovely forest paths, followed by a climb up to some wind turbines, then quite a long walk on blacktop, and finally a bar/rest stop in Cruces before the last push to Sobrado. I’m sorry that’s all I can recall, but I know I would do it differently if I did it again. Perhaps Josep has the right idea in #2 above.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I ended up doing the route that goes via Cruces after starting in Baamonde. It is as described above, in particular the omelette was excellent and pavement walking was not excellent.

It took me 7 hours (including breaks) and was around 32k. The monastery is an excellent Albergue and I highly recommend it!
