Anthropology Dissertation Research Survey

Time of past OR future Camino
I am planning to walk the Camino for the first time, from Leon to Santiago, starting in mid-January 2016!
Hi all,

I am doing my anthropological dissertation research on the Camino Pilgrimage at Oxford Brookes University. I would love it if some of you might fill out my questionnaire? The aim of this study is to investigate the various understandings of the Camino Pilgrimage, what drives pilgrims to make the journey, how their Camino experiences have affected their everyday lives, and where these understandings fit within the larger social and religious contexts of pilgrimage and pilgrimage studies. I would really appreciate it if some of you might take part, as I need responses for my work. I would be happy to send you a hard copy or e-copy of the research once it has been published?

You can find information and the questionnaire at

Many thanks and bien Camino!

Chloe and Radek, have either of you published the results of your research? I was googling anthropology and the Camino de Santiago just to see what's out there and this post was the top result. I'd be interested to see where things took you and what conclusions you were able to gather. I'm sure some others here might be interested as well.

Same question here! Chloe, Radek, if you know of any completed anthropological/related studies on the Camino, i'd be very interested to read. Thanks a lot. Julija
