A Simple Question

What does the abbreviation "Rda" mean in Spanish? In context: "Calle la Rda, Villalcázar de Sirga". I have googled (of course), but I've obviously not been asking the right questions, as I've found no answer there.

From Streetview in Google Maps it seems to be "Calle La Ronda". As for the meaning of "ronda" in this instance there seem to be several possibilities.

I looked up the definition of ronda in the online Spanish dictionary published by the RAE. Definition #6 appears to be the one we want.

6. f. Each of the walks or streets whose group surrounds a city or the old part of it .

To me that appears to be the case for the streets in Villalcázar de Sirga with Ronda in the name.

Thanks, all. I tried Streetview, but I couldn't get close enough to read the sign I found. I was probably looking at a different sign. But really, is it worth saving the space occupied by two letters? I know we abbreviate 'June' to 'Jun', but that is usually when all the months are shortened to three letters.

In case you haven't bothered to look, it clears up the 'ronda/rotonda' question (not retonda). I just wish I knew my way around the interweb as well as some of you do. I wonder how the Rondeños feel about living in a town called 'Ring Road'? Does Ronda have a ring road? If so, what do they call it? La ronda de Ronda?

Ronda predates ring roads by a number of centuries
