Forging Ties Between Japan’s Oldest Pilgrimage Route and Spain’s Camino de Santiago

The Saigoku route, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist pilgrimage routes, links 33 temples in the Kansai region. This year a new agreement joins it with the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage routes in northern Spain, with the aim of deepening cultural ties among these diverse regions and religions.
