I understand taxi service is available from Pamplona to SJPDP. Does anyone know if Uber service is available for the same route?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
There is however a service called Blablacar which is a carpooling service.

If you use the omio.com website then that will point you towards the availability or not of a ride on the day that you are interested in. However you probably have to sign up to Blablacar to accept a ride. Blablacar is an app and it may also have a website.

If you are in Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia then the Spanish language equivalent of Uber is Cabify. I have used Cabify in Madrid and it was great.

I haven't used Blablacar but I know a number of people who have used it, mostly locals. It uses local people who are doing a longer distance trip who want to share costs by taking on passengers. They have checks around drivers and feedback on them but I guess that you take your chances because you are not travelling with a professional driver.

I know someone who uses Blablacar as a driver and I would be happy to travel with that person but your experience may vary.

Uber is still not very common in huge parts of Europe, and if, maybe in the larger cities but very rarely so in rural areas / smaller villages.

You'll probably have more luck stopping a random car with thumbs out!

There's really good and cheap bus services all over Spain. Maybe try those?

Or, as mentioned, blablacar. That is often used, but I honestly had too bad experience with that to try again (reckless, dangerous driver - bad luck).

You could also find other pilgrims at the train station / bus station / airport and share a regular taxi.

Thanks for reply. Looks like might have to fall back to taxi…it was a bit expensive, though. And hope can find a fellow pilgrim on the train from Madrid to share the cost. Ha, i have also thought about the “thumbs out” option. Buen Camino!

You can book ahead with this taxi company and they will attempt to pool you with other pilgrims to share the cost.
