    This doesn't make sense really. Everytime you use your camera you are advertising it to any people who might be of the disposition to steal it - so you are already more attractive to potential thieves. Also my camera and a lens would cost me £4k to replace - totally different to a mobile phone...

    I didn't carry a wallet. I had a bank card stashed away in my ruck-sack for cash points. Other than that everything was done via my phone. My phone and passport stayed in my back-pack for showers etc, or sometime the phone would be left charging. Only once did I ever feel the need to take these...

    Sorry to hear you got ill, but glad you still managed to walk. Giardia can also be spread person to person and caught from contaminated surfaces, so it might not have been from the water for sure?
