We just returned from the Kumano-Kodo. Nakahechi route: coast to coast east-west. The information service at Kii-Tanabe is very useful, informative and they provide free compostela passes for registering stamps as dual pilgrims. The main route is 78 km with the World Heritage centre in Hongu and the walk from Takijiri-Ori to Nachi falls can be done in two days with stopover at Yonomine Onzen
