Caminha to A Guarda

We will be picking up the remainder of the Camino Portuguese in late May. Arriving mid-afternoon on a Saturday, will it be fairly easy to get across the Mino from Caminha either by fishing boat or water taxi? If we left it until the following morning (Sunday) would this be equally simple? Cheers!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Have a look at this page Xacobeo Transfer

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
We took that water taxi (6 Euro pro person) and just in 10 minutes were on another side. If the weather is bad don't forget to wear your poncho and have your backpack covered - that small boat ride can be a challenging adventure!

On a related topic, how often does the weather, sea tides and wind impact the Xacobeo Transfer and other water taxi crossings (appears to be at least 4 additional water taxi options).
Plan to delay the booking of the Xacobeo Transfer until weather conditions are known, perhaps 48 hours in advance.

A selection of Camino Jewellery
We were able to find the information about Mario and his boat transfer from the town tourist information office. The ferry that runs cannot be depended upon because of tides. Hope this helps.

Thanks, will assess the tides closer to the date, and check the status of the taxi operators located behind the campsite, before entering Caminha.

Indeed, for safety reasons, we do not operate if weather conditions do not allow the crossing of the Miño River. In that case, we REFUND the reservation ticket.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

⚠️Warning! Yes, there are other unsafe competitors because they do not have an authorized port in Spain, and they will also try to lie to you saying that we are not operational.

I walked it in reverse back in 2018, and at that time it seemed there was only one boat.....and you know I got to the ferry crossing on the one day a week it did not run....I think that was a Monday, but do not remember exactly. Now you indicate there are 2 choices, but still check the schedules if you miss your Sat or Sunday plans. Alternative for me was a bus that dropped me a few km from the bridge, and then quite a long walk to the next bus. I spent a tremendous amount of time trying to ascertain bus schedules and bus stops. Probably should have walked the whole thing or just swam across. The bus ordeal must have taken 5 hours.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
The boat ride with "Marco" was a very fun and memorable part of our Camino. I wouldn't miss it!
Clearly the safest water taxi seems to be Xacobeo Transfer, do they run on Sundays ... the schedule above does not say(?)
