Hi,
I only have 2 weeks to walk some part of el Camino del norte. Could someone recommend me a nice route? :-)

If I can I want to aviod walking along big roads. I do not mind paying extra for accomodation as I prefer not to be crowded. I do not mind difficuly paths. I am in no hurry and I enjoy a great scenery. :-)

Thankful for any advise!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

basque and asturian coastlines were both wonderful. especially if you stick to the coast alternatives.

In western Asturias, from Luarca to Ribadeo there are 68 kilometers of a beautiful coastal path . There are 4 sections of the coastal path GR E9, they are homologated, conditioned and perfectly signposted. The coastal path usually goes between 1 and 2 kms to the right of the Camino de Santiago, bordering the coast and visiting beautiful beaches, spectacular cliffs and fishing villages such as Puerto de Vega, Viavelez, Ortiguera, Tapia de Casariego.

In Wikiloc you can see the 3 stages.

Buen camino.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
My son and I had about two weeks and hiked from Gijon to Luarca, and then took a bus and a taxi to Abadin for the final walk to Santiago. We started from Gijon on June 25 of this year and arrived in Santiago on July 6 (to the albergue at the city limits) and reached the Cathedral early the next morning. The first day out of Gijon had a significant portion on hard surfaces and in industrial areas, but we were brand new to the Camino and (not knowing the more charming portions that awaited us) the first day was great. Luarca was beautiful, and if the stages from there toward Ribadeo are as described above, they would make a great first week. Buen Camino!

I walked from Gijon to Santiago last year. Definitely, beautiful coastal route. Out of Gijon not fun at all, but the rest of my walk was very nice. Beautiful views on the coastal trail, not crowded at all.

Irún to Noja, and then Pesués-Colunga, always taking the coast as much as possible following the GR 9, definitely!

Thanks for all your replies! Will study the carefully now :-)

Thanks again for your advise! I can inform you all that I will be starting from the beginning, from Irún. I guess I will make it to Santander during my two weeks. Have just realised that I might be able to walk yet another week so we'll see where I'll end up. :-) Where ever I end up I will come back and start from there again... sometime. Liked the idea that I can start walking directly from the airport. 11 September! See you!
