Yikes - starting in Ponferrada on May 16th!

Greetings fellow peregrinos - I will be embarking on my first 'toe-in-the-water' Camino starting in Ponferrada on May 16th - and I just realized that's only 19 days away!!!! I'm totally excited, and vaguely scared, and a tad bit freaked out. I've only been able to manage a few short distance practice hikes (with my pack) due to time constraints so I'm feeling more than a bit under-prepared - but totally eager!!!! Given the great advice I've discovered on this site, I'm packing extra light and trusting that anything else that might be needed can be found on route. And, given my lack of rigorous prep, I'm planning to take it easy and hope to make it into Santiago by May 25th.

A question: I arrive in Madrid early (6:00 am) on the 15th. I am planning to take the Terminal 4 bus to Ponferrada that morning. Should I buy a bus ticket in advance or can I just get one that day?

Hi Sharon, sounds like we are in the same situation. I am thinking of starting in Ponferrada also but will get there from Barcelona on June 18th. I will certainly watch for any advice you get and give. Have a wonder and safe trip! Buen Camino!
