elpais.com reports that five new shelters and countless makeshift camps to shelter the pilgrims will be established during 2010. The president of the Xunta, Alberto Núñez Feijoo, announced yesterday after the weekly meeting of his Government that the Department of Culture duplicate the lodging places for the Holy Year, with an investment of 12.1 million which will also help "improve the environment "of the different variants of the pilgrimage route.
