Future plan: easter week 2019 Santa Semana, Sevilla to Porto direction
Is there any ladies end April or start May from Valenca/Tui to Santiago ( still didnt buy ticket) to join? I was told about 10-20 km per day would be rytm, i wouldnt push more, there are albergues more often on that part of route. Please, ladies join me. I talk few languages,so language barrier would not be problem, as well i plan to go superlight with no value things on trekking, i advice the same rest of girls to send luggage instead to carry and be possible target of thieves. I have done trekking in exotic, and i m very practical about this or any life situation. Nice to meet you

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Hi Ana,

I think you will meet other pilgrims, but it is less likely that you will find company for your entire journey as most pilgrims walk about 20 km/day. Some may walk 15, others 25 or thirty. But walking only 10 km is rather an exception.

In my opinion it is safer to reduce your belongings that you take to the camino than to use luggage transport to prevent theft. They will just drop your luggage in front of the albergue or - sometimes - in the communitary zone of the albergue. So everyone could get hold of it. Only the things which you do not bring can not be stolen.

Luggage transport in my opinon is a good thing for people depending on medical devices. So they can send them ahead.

Luggage transport is also very valuable to people with medical problems who can’t carry a pack. On my 3 Caminos I never heard of anyone having someone steal while it was being transferred. Did hear about people having things taken in Albergue.

Holoholo automatically captures your footpaths, places, photos, and journals.
Go to the Facebook Group Camigas (it stands for Camino Amigas). There you will meet other women walking on their own. Plus, they have a spreadsheet where members write where & when they are walking. You should be able to arrange to meet up with others walking at that time.

Dr. Anas initial post suggested that your luggage is a possible target of thieves while you are carrying it and that it is therefore saver to use luggage transport.

I can not agree on that: I never experienced that something was stolen out of my pack while I was carrying it.

Most thefts occur when people leave their valuable items unattended outside a bar, in the albergue on their bed etc.

In some countries to which Dr. Ana refers, backpackers can also become a target for robbery so it could be saver to send your luggage. But this does not apply to Spain or Portugal.

If you fear robbery on the camino do not take your 1000 $ smartphone or your 800 $ camera with you, that is the best preventive measure.
