I'm thinking of walking late june or early july unaccompanied .Is this a good time [weather] and should I book accomodation before I set out[reluctant to do so if not necessary as more flexible with distances each day...Am thinking of a weeks[7/8days] walking aprox 20/22 kms each day, arriving Santiago De Compostela mid 7th /8th day. Could a starting town be suggested[thinking Tui..but open to other sugestions. In another recent thread Johnnie Walker sets out some stage distances on the Camino Portugues to reach Santiago: http://www.caminodesantiago.me/board/el-camino-portugues/topic7561.html#p45097

If you count backwards on this thread, perhaps somewhere like Ponte de Lima would be a good starting point for the amount of time you have?
