Where is an inexpensive, safe, and close to city center hostel to stay for 2 nights in Paris ?
I always stay at Maubuisson which is in the heart of Paris just across from Ile St-Louis. It is a hostel owned by the French government in a beautifully restored mideval building--private, double and very nice dorm rooms. It is a couple of blocks from the Tour de St Jacques and across the street from St Gervais, the church used by the monastic fraternity of Jerusalem which has beautiful Offices. The French government owns three beautiful hostels in the same neighborhood. Maubuisson is my favorite. Foucey is also nice--all three are but those are my two favorites. There is an easy bus stop to the train station for SJPP. Here is the website:Where is an inexpensive, safe, and close to city center hostel to stay for 2 nights in Paris ?
Thanks for that tip. I always prefer the public run hostels... Did you stay in a dorm? Truth be told, I've traveled all over the world, this is my first trip to Paris though I've been in France before, I'm a little intimidated. As an American I have heard such terrible things about Parisians.I always stay at Maubuisson which is in the heart of Paris just across from Ile St-Louis.
