Where to spend a rest/break day

Hi everyone,

Plans are underway to start the Camino Ingles in September! We are aiming to walk it in 8 days, 1 of those days we plan on taking a rest day in one of the towns on the route. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which place would be the best/most interesting to spend a whole day in?

We have a full day in Ferrol at the start and full day in Santiago at the end so no need to suggest those.

Betanzos is the obvious choice, as it’s midway and the most picturesque town on the Inglés in my opinion. Bo camiño!

We also walked the Ingles from Ferrol but took a 1 day “side” trip to A Coruna by train (and took the train back the next day). Plenty to experience in A Coruna and as much walking and resting as you want to do.

According to Rome2Rio.com there's a train and a bus, with the bus being faster and cheaper.

We took the early train from Pontedeume to A Coruna, same travel time as the bus and only slightly more expense.
