Ha, easy for me to find it in the dark, only 19 steps from my bedroom's door! All the better for illuminating midnight walks in search of sustenance . . .
Oh, you have a good looking avatar!. . . A change of avatar, indeed . . .
absolutely, powerful... oops, that is a word for another thread!!!Very brave of you Peter!
You are forgiven .absolutely, powerful... oops, that is a word for another thread!!!
Lovely photos, and what’s your address? That log fire makes me so jealous!A mixed week!!
Tuesday we met with our 'Camigo' friends from the forum. We took a short walk before hand near Topsham. There was a heron feeding on the marsh - that is the white spot in the centre of the photo, just on the grass.
Friday we went for a local walk and found these white violets on the bank side. The ancient circular field was also clearly visible. It could be Celtic or Saxon by its shape.
Sunday, snow again. About 25cms of the stuff in our garden so we are sitting by the log fire again ......
Lovely,Sailor. Where are you, Yaying? Missing you...For Miss Yaying, photo of your Pacific Ocean during my walk today. Gorgeous. Your land is only a couple of weeks to the West by ship. Good luck y que la luz de Dios alumbre su camino.

We live in Devon. More snow overnight so sitting by our log fire again until the road is passable.Lovely photos, and what’s your address? That log fire makes me so jealous!
Miss K, photo taken at Silver Strand State Beach, Coronado, California, in San Diego County. Que la luz de Dios alumbre su camino.Lovely,Sailor. Where are you, Yaying? Missing you...
Hmm. Will I get there with only the Devon clue? Gosh, last time I was in Devon... i had hitched with three friends from college in Edinburgh, and we had a wonderful trip, finally ending up in Cornwall working in a hotel for the summer, and I can still remember the cream teas! We earned £7 per week, and the same in tips. Those were the days indeed...We live in Devon. More snow overnight so sitting by our log fire again until the road is passable.

Yes it is. It is called the Exe Trail and now has improved boarding and more bird watching points. It might have been called the goat walk way back. Glad it brings back memories for you ☺Tia is that the circular walk that you can do at the edge of town around the estuary (was it called the goat walk) ? We used to go there at weekends and walk when the children were little... you could stop half way at the lookout to spot birds... that brings back so many memories
Still bitterly cold and Eastern wind so staying inside.
We did the same yesterday , we walked true the parks in Den Haag and Scheveningen true the dunes.Yesterday I was stupid enough to venture outside for a 17 km hike in very exposed, flat and windy countryside. The 'Beast from the East' was a real killer. I did wear a beanie but still came home with a splitting headache and a numb face. You did the smart thing.
We had a nice but very cold 17km. walk true the dunes and coastal area around Scheveningen en Den Haag.
Just made only two pictures after the first coffee break .
Thanks for sharing the photos, Sabine. I am a bit lazy since the really bad weather visited us. Soon,, when Spring comes here...9.5 k in just less than two hours.
Nice 7 Celsius , dry and cloudy.
Walked to the 12th century St Servatius church where there is an art installation called Proximity Effect by Paul Devens.
Also a cross from 1723.
And a bee hotel.
Yippie...spring!

Ok , I think its about time to show your red socks .You know where..Thank you Miss Weather for the 62f/17c and sunny day, great steady - paced walk, longer than planned and maybe wearing my brand new RED socks had something to do with it! The Great Pacific Waterfall (rain) expected to arrive tonight or early tomorrow. Animo! La luz de Dios alumbra tu camino.

Your photos are stunning, as Sabine said. Made me go hunt for something I have kept for a long time..A nice long flat walk along Sturgeon Bank on the Fraser River. Huge flock of snow geese across a part of the path. They are wintering longer and longer here. In past years they've usually left by the end of February.

Yes! Me too! When the snow geese first arrive for the season, I have a "birds eye" view. They spend a lot of the mornings in the farm fields across from my home. Over the 4 or 5 months they change their pattern and flock to different areas throughout the day. Right now they spend most of the night in the field, leaving noisily at dawn.@Theatregal : love those geese.
This is so wonderful @kirkie ! Thank you for sharing this article. I will save this and pass it on!Your photos are stunning, as Sabine said. Made me go hunt for something I have kept for a long time..

Yes, I was born in Vancouver and at at one point lived in Steveston for a while. I’ll be visiting the area in a few weeks time and hope to fit in a walk along Sturgeon Bank. It is such a different landscape from where I live now in France, with the added bonus of fish and chips down by the pier! You are welcomeHave you lived in this area @Jill81 ?
