Where can you start in order to qualify for the certificate?

I have my passport and they said that the start is in Ribadeo but it seem to be a lot more than the minimum.

We will be going to Santander and making our way to the start point by bus so we can relax before beginning the walk.

Anybody know where to start? I have looked around but everyone just starts in Irun area.

Thanks

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
If you only wish to walk the minimum 100km to qualify for the compostela the start point would be Baamonde = 101.5km. Cycling the minimum 200km distance would be from Tol.

Tol - Ribadeo = 7km
Ribadeo - Lourenza = 29km
Lourenza - Abadin = 26km
Abadin - Vilalba = 20.5km
Vilalba - Baamonde = 21km

Baamonde - Sobrado dos Monxes = 40km
Sobrado dos Monxes - Arzua = 22.4km
Arzua - Monte do Gozo = 34.6km
Monte do Gozo - Santiago de Compostela = 4.5km

I cannot speak to the 100km mark on the Camino del Norte, but I watched a group of packless, Spanish, twenty-something men hop out of a taxi on a road a few meters from the 100km marker on the Camino Frances. They handed me their cameras and asked me to shoot some photos, presumably to prove they started at the 100km marker, since there is no sello at the marker. I obliged non-judgmentally. They headed joyously down the trail.

I am sure you can find a knowledgeable, nonjudgmental taxi driver near the 100km mark, who will drop you off at the qualifying distance.

thanks for the responses! No sello at the marker huh?? Hmmmm, I guess I'll have to take a picture too. I hope that works!!
