What size Sheet for Bed Bug Sheet?

Hey everyone,

I'll be walking in June, and I keep hearing about bed bug and bed bug sheets. What size are the beds (or what size sheet should I bring?) in the albergues? Can I get by with self treating a twin/single fitted sheet with permethrin?

Thanks,
PC

What Falon and Tincatinker said, except I'd put that sheet on a scale. I'll bet it weighs more than a coolmax sleeping bag liner (about 8oz), which was all my wife and I took July-Aug. 2014 (treated with permethrin). The coolmax ones are stretchy and more comfortable to sleep in if you are like me and roll around when sleeping. The silk liners are lighter still (about 4oz) but not stretchy.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Personally, I would just treat the outside of your sleeping bag and backpack and forget about a bedbug sheet.
Also, if you're not allergic or sensitive, you can use a mosquito spray each night.

I found a queen size bed skirt in a thrift store for a dollar. Then cut the skirt off leaving just very thin light weight fabric, then treated it. Packs flat in a gallon baggie. It can wrap over any mattress. I'm a week into CP and haven't even unpacked it yet. So far places are very nice and clean. No bites on me yet.
