I wrote a fairly long post with info about walking the Rota Vicentina walk in southern Portugal in the thread about the this walk and when I hit post reply only about 6 lines came up so I deleted it, what did I do wrong?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
My system used to 'timeout' and I would loose my thread and have to start over again. While creating a thread now , I select 'More options' and then in that mode I 'Preview' every few minutes - at least I know what I have written is there.;)

Judy, I would love to hear more about your walk on the Rota Vicentina as I am thinking about walking all or most of it this coming Sept/Oct. I would love to hear your post, if it's not too much trouble to rewrite it.

I know that very frustrating feeling. If I remember now I write my post in an off-line application and then cut and paste into the forum.

I would also love to hear about your walk.

Hi Judy,

I had a look and saw your post. Not sure what happened. Sometimes, if the cursor is not in the text box when you write, the text does not get written there... I dont think there is a problem with the forum software, and there is no problem with your account.

Sometimes I recommend to users that if they know that they will write a long posts, to write it in word or another text editor first. Then copy paste it into the forum later.

If you have any more problems, please let me know.

Buen Camino!

I support Ivar. I have experienced, more than once, that I believe I am writing a post, but somehow I have managed to move the cursor out of the answering window, and then the text disappears into thin air.

Also, I advice to write (long) text in a separate editor (not Word; too many formatting things going on, but a simple text editor). All this techonoligy...;)

Hi Judy, computers have their own life!!
I walked the Portuguese Camimo from Lissabon in June 2014 and I would like to read your account of the Rota Vincentina walk. Portugal was such a great place to be and I would love to go back there and do some more walking. The people were so friendly and helpfull and the countryside so beautiful (when I was not walking on the highways)
I hope you find some way to post your description of the Rota Vincentina walk.

Thanks Everyone for your replies, my husband is going to help me with the cut and paste.

Ivar it would have been my fault, my skills on the computer are limited.

Judy.

I recall writing long email reports - destined for several groups as well as friends - during my Camino, usually very late at night, and then losing a couple after perhaps an hour or two of work. As is likely true with others of you, it wasn't the time so much - although that meant much less sleep than I should have had, but the effort composing it, and the knowledge that I wouldn't be able to come close to phrasing things in the same manner that I had invested so much effort in. I can't be certain, but suspected that it was the unfamiliar keyboard in both cases.
