Well marked from Vila Do Conde

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
It has a couple of tight spots with no hard shoulders and the cobblestones kill your feet, but the way was perfectly marked 3 years ago. Buen camino!

Hi all.
Currently on the Caminho Portuguese. Started from Porto on Senda Litoral. Great signage from Vila Do Conde to Acros to get back on the Central.
No issues at all.
Which route did you take from Vila do Conde? I tried walking by the aquaduct and failed miserably due to lack of arrows.

I walked the central route from Lisbon in late April and into mid-May this year. Once I got to Porto, the yellow arrows appeared mostly freshly painted. There were also a lot of yellow "x" markings to wan you against going the wrong way.

I was impressed with the relative improvement in route marking since my last walk through here in 2015. The local Camino associations are to be commended.

I hope this helps.

My wife and I walked the route that starts along the river right after crossing the bridge in Vila do Conde (green dots in the Brierley book) in early May of this year and it was well-marked. But like @amancio said, there are some tight spots on the narrow roads with no shoulders that can be hairy if there's cars about, especially if you happen to be at a blind curve. Fortunately, those same cobblestones that hurt your feet cause tires to roar, so the approaching cars sound like freight trains. Otherwise, it's a very pleasant walk.
