Watched a pilgrimage movie last night

Not a Camino movie, but I enjoyed The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry last night. It is on our Amazon Prime account in the US. Maybe not for everyone, but we enjoyed it.

The main character goes on an impulsive walking pilgrimage across England to visit an old friend who is dying of cancer. He finds blisters and experiences the kindness of strangers as he works through some of his feelings regarding his son. Not the Camino, but a pilgrimage nonetheless.

I just realized I read the book 4-5 years ago. Good book will watch to see if the movie does the book justice. Thanks for sharing

My wife and I enjoyed "The Way" and it inspired us to plan to do the Camino when I retire. Unfortunately, she succumbed to a 16 yearlong fight with breast cancer before she could make it last year. (Of those 16 years most were in great physical shape). So next year in May I hope to enjoy a pilgrimage on the Frances, and a much-anticipated retirement, in the company of my wife. Not as we had hoped, but she will be accompanying me for the journey. Buen Camino

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I had a great big lump in my throat at the end of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. (I'm lying, I cried.) Smiled a lot during reading too. Great book.

I’m going to watch it tonight. Thanks.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
