- Time of past OR future Camino
- 1999 Burgos-SDC, 2003 Leon-SDC, 2007-2012 Le Puy-SDC, 2014 Burgos-Covarrubias, Camino Ingles 3 times
It is nearly two weeks since I came home after having walked Camino Ingles, alone. Last year when I thought about walking alone I was very much afraid that I would be lonely since I am a rather introvert person. But now I have done it and I was not lonely! I was alone but not lonely. I chose to stay in pensiones and hotels rather than albergues. In a way I thought it would be better to be lonely in my own room than among people in an albergue...But I enjoyed staying on my own in a hotel room. And I felt safe when I was walking the Camino, so much time to think and reflect.
I love Camino Ingles, I have now walked it 3 times and might do it again
I must admit there is one thing I don't like when walking alone: to go out eating. So I had no great and good meals in restaurants, but more "fast food"... I love the tortillas though..
PS: The day after I came home I went to sing in my church choir and one of the songs was "Go in the grace of the Lord" by James Barnard. Some of the lines: Go in hope, God's hope. Go in peace, God's peace. Go in joy, everlasting joy as you live in the fullness of his love. Go in the grace of the Lord.
These lines really express my feelings I had while I was walking Camino Ingles.
