Walking the last 100 Kim's.

We are planning to start in Rome with a mixture of walking hiking local transport etc and visiting many Camino sites, is it possible to walk between other sites clocking up more than100 Kim's but not necessarily walking them into Santiago necessarily. We wish to walk sections including Rome to Sienna San Gimignano Toulouse to Lourdes across the Pyrenees and other sections. We are hiking and camping in a relaxed manner and sleeping under the Milky Way. It means our packs will be heavier and so will take breaks where necessary. we will be walking partial Compostela routes and cover a lot of ground hiking ending in Santiago.

Is this possible still to receive in Santiago. Thankyou

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Hola

What a great journey you have planned. Very best wishes for it.

To obtain the Compostela, the traditional certificate, pilgrims must walk at least the last 100 kms INTO Santiago.

Pilgrims who arrive in Santiago who have not walked the specified amount can receive the stamps of the cathedral on their Credencial but not the certificate.

Buen camino
