Walking the Camino in your living room

I returned from my latest Camino experiance in October with about 100 hours of HD Video recorded as I walked. As an experiment I edited one of the videos for a duration of exactly one hour. I then set up a large (42 inch) smart TV in front of my treadmill to see if watching the video as I worked out would offer the needed mental focus to make those daily winter workouts more palatable. Since this is going to be a test project, I at this time only made one test video for this use. After trying it out I have discovered the following so far: The time flies past while looking at all the scenery I missed on my walk. When I step over mud puddles on the video, I find myself tensing the same muscles as I did in real time. When I turn a corner in the video I feel my body swaying to that short rhythmic motion. So far I love it and don't want to stop the machine once my planned exercise duration expires.

If you would like to try this with your stepper, Nordic Trak, or treadmill, Go to my free YouTube Channel and give it a shot. No commercials by the way.

Please feel free to make suggestions or improvements I should make, and if you want more, please say so.

Hi Tom, what did you record it on?

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Almost like being there but I kept trying to turn to see things just out of shot. I was also bobbing in time with the walk.
At a local museum they have a flight simulator that you can fly around the local countryside and coast. When it was launched local TV news showed an experienced pilot trying it out and, as he "flew" under a bridge his head ducked even though he knew it was a video!

Next time .... see if Google will give you one of their 360° cameras.
That would be pretty interesting, but I think they are quite heavy and the battery life would likely be pretty short, and data files very large. Each 4 to 6 hour day on my camera was around 45 to 70 Giga Bytes on a 128 GB SDC. I carried a 4 TB MyPassport Wireless storage device which worked very well for evening data dumps. I am planning on walking the Primitivo this coming September to record another set.

Hi Sue, I carried a RemovU K1 with a backpack strap mount. I was able to record up to 7 hours of continuous video using a power bank connected to the camera with a USB cable.

Ah, gimball recorder !
hence the fluent progress
