Done Le Puy to Conques. Planning Conques to Cahors
Hello. I walked from Le Puy to Conques in August and am now planning to continue from Conques to Cahors in early November. Does anyone have experience of walking the Le Puy route in November and will accommodation options be available. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks. Keith

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
from Conques to Cahors in early November.
You have two problems. One is the weather, which can be chill and rainy (perhaps even snowy the first few days due to elevation). The second is the availability of lodging. France has school holidays from 22 Oct through 2 Nov, and many gite owners will take off then. Also, at least half the places close after All Saints Day (Toussaint) 1 Nov. So get yourself a copy of Miam Miam Dodo and start now with making reservations by email. The corollary to the lodging problem is the eating problem; be sure to ask whether restaurants, markets, bakeries, or other resupply will be open and available. You can count on needing to carry more food supplies.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
