Hello all - I don't know if this has been done before on here, but maybe Ivar could start a new section.
I have done a fair bit of camino mileage so far, always starting alone, for want, mainly, of a suitable companion. I do like to have my solitude when walking, but it's nice to have a friend to chat to/ dine out with etc in the evenings, especially when everyone else seems to be "grouped up", and you're the only loner. Yes, we do meet others along the way, and walk/talk for a while, have some companionship. And, I know there are potential problems starting out with someone else - different walking rates/talking rates and so on.
So, what do all yous out there think?
Possible new thread??
All expressions of interest gratefully received.
I'll kick off with the first request if this takes off......

I suppose, the camino calendar could be a good help to identify people being on the way at the same period? I know exactly, what you're talking about - but finally I made it every year to stumble upon nice people and hearty, inspiring companions. But especially this year, that I'm supposed to arrive my very first time at Santiago, I hope very much to meet the right people with whom it might be funny to celebrate my arrival ....
