The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
In my opinion, the best way out of Porto is down Douro river, then up to coast: Leixoes, Matosinhos, Angeiras, Vila do Conde, a beautiful way to start the Camino
That's exactly what I did two weeks ago It was great, but I didn't like the turn eastward to Rates from Vila at all! One of my worst days, although having a bad cold didn't help.

Hello,
Can you please tell me why you didn't enjoy it (other than your cold, of course).

I am debating between walking the central walk out of Porto or taking the coast up to Vila do Conde then connect back to the central. Both sound like they have their challenges, so I have to learn enough to know which challenges I want to take.

I am wondering about this connection walk you wrote about. Any opinions from experienced walkers are helpful. Thanks so much!
Lynne

Hi Lynne,
The road was quite narrow and not much room on the shoulder. There were many cars zooming by and their tires made lots of noise on all the cobbles. I also didn't feel the few towns nor the scenery very nice on that stretch. It was a rather hot day, as well...nothing else I can add and it's all just my experience and opinion.

It’s May 16. We walked close to 7 or 8 km of boardwalk along the ocean. It’s overcast, windy and some on and off showers.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Unfortunately Depinho put no comment in this thread, but in Wikiloc we have one in Portugues:
"its the connection between VdC and Rates avoiding the busy roads". it should not be the same experience as in #5.
If you don't like that you can try the Ecovia between Povoa and Rates (~15km, orange line on the map).
It does not look like any danger from car traffic:

Sounds lovely.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Lynne

Admittedly there are some places on this “connector” between Vila do Conde and Rates where you do take your life in your hands—walking in the “gutter” between road and walls but there are also some lovely areas. Was glad we made the switch because loved Barcelos (hit there for Market Day. A wonderful market worth planning to enjoy) and Casa Fernandas. Loved this route—the people, the food, and of course the Camino itself.

We had the exact same impression around the same time.
